AION 2 Unbound by Genus Title Guide

Quick Answer

Raise Cogni, Fera, Natura, Varian and Special Genus Insight to level 10 for Genus Genius and Unbound by Genus. The requirement is family Insight, not an individual pet level.

To earn Unbound by Genus in AION 2 Global, raise all five Genus Insight families to level 10: Cogni, Fera, Natura, Varian and Special. This completes Genus Genius, the achievement associated with the title. The requirement concerns family Insight levels, rather than an individual pet reaching level 10 or one family having perfect analysis effects.

Check all five family levels

Open Pets, then the Genus Insight tab. Select each family and check its own level; progress is separate for every family.

CogniLevel 10
FeraLevel 10
NaturaLevel 10
VarianLevel 10
SpecialLevel 10

The Genus Insight guide and the dedicated title walkthrough agree on the five-family requirement. Finishing only four families leaves the title objective incomplete, even if the fifth is one you rarely use.

Do not confuse Pet Insight with Genus Insight. Regular soul-collected Global pets reach pet level 3; the level-10 target here belongs to the family system. The broader Pets guide explains the individual-pet soul requirements and collection workflow.

Progress toward Genus Genius

  1. Check the five family levels and identify the unfinished ones.
  2. Develop pets belonging to those families and review the resulting Genus Insight progress.
  3. Select an unfinished family and inspect its Analyze action, effects and displayed cost.
  4. Use analysis within your Soul Crystal and Kina budget, then check that family's level again.
  5. Repeat the checks across all five families until each shows level 10, then review Genus Genius and its title reward.

Pet acquisition, Pet Insight upgrades and analysis contribute to family progression. Use the family level to measure the title requirement; do not substitute a count of pets collected or a count of rolls performed.

The title route does not require a stated rarity on every analysis effect. A desirable effect and a finished family level are separate outcomes. If the title is your only immediate target, spend toward the missing family levels instead of treating a perfect board as an extra achievement prerequisite.

Account for locks and automatic analysis

Analysis consumes Soul Crystals and Kina, and locking effects raises the cost of later rolls. The displayed cost is the useful check before confirming; there is no single fixed total here that applies to every player's existing levels, locked effects and resources.

If you are progressing purely for the title, avoid adding locks without a reason. If your current effects support a build you want to preserve, weigh that benefit against the extra cost before rerolling. Do not remove something you value merely because an efficient title route assumes an unlocked board.

Auto analysis can continue spending until it finds the selected rarity or better. Review its stopping condition before starting. Reaching a family level and obtaining a particular rare effect should remain separate decisions.

Understand the title's effects

The Questlog title record lists Owned and Equipped effects separately. Wikily's title record gives the same values:

Effect stateListed bonus
Owned EffectPvE Damage Boost 1%
Equipped EffectPvE Damage Boost 4.5%
Equipped EffectAttack Bonus 34
Equipped EffectCritical Hit 68

Owning the title and equipping it are distinct states. Check the title screen when comparing it with your current choice; do not assume every listed bonus applies merely because the achievement is complete. Do not assume the percentages add together; check the active bonus in your title screen before comparing them with another title.

The achievement reward entry also lists 20,000 Kina (Bound) alongside the title item. That is a completion reward, rather than the price of the title or a refund that proves how much your progression will cost.

Check the missing step if the title is unavailable

Start with the requirement that is easiest to misread: inspect the selected tab and all five Genus levels. One completed family or one fully leveled pet does not satisfy Genus Genius.

If every family shows level 10, inspect the achievement's completion and reward state, then check whether the title has been obtained and selected. The database represents Unbound by Genus as a title-granting item, so distinguish the achievement reward from the currently equipped title. Follow the action your client displays rather than assuming the title is equipped automatically.

If the client does not match these steps after all five levels are verified, keep the exact achievement and reward state for support. Checking these states helps identify the missing step; an account-specific reward problem may still need support.
